Just because you are making some small lifestyle changes, does not mean you have to sacrifice.

What if you could save effortlessly without changing the way you live much?

Would you do that to save $100 every month? Here are some ideas to try out.

25 Mindblowing Ways to Save $100 This Month

1. Cut The Cable

Ouch! Making big changes from the start.  Not exactly.

First, cutting the cable can help you save OVER $100 per month. My cable bill was topping $225 before I cut the cord, making the switch to cableless streaming services. I’m on Hulu, Netflix, and Sling TV right now and I’m STILL well under $225/month.

In fact, Hulu starts at just $5.99/month. Jaw drop.

Check out these money-saving cable TV alternatives to try.

2. Use Ibotta

Ibotta

Ibotta can save you money on your groceries:

  • Scan your grocery receipt
  • Scope out the latest deals and sales

Try this for a few weeks and watch your grocery budget shrink. This one is a hidden gem that’s a true game changer. Did I mention that the Ibotta app is free?

3. Cut Out Starbucks

Eek. Can you believe your Starbucks addiction can add up to $100 or more per month?

It did for me.

I used my company card at work to fuel my Starbucks addiction. They had an on-site Starbucks at work. And, I spent over $100/month on Starbucks, easily. Those little trips here and there, or everyday add up.

Do this instead:

Get a cute coffee tumbler, make coffee at home, and bring it to work.

A coworker of mine actually used a french press and kept it right at her desk. It was the cutest thing ever and something I’d love. Hot, fresh coffee right at my desk all day. Can’t beat that. Try this to save $100/month on your coffee splurge.

4. Cut Out Fast Food

Eat at home and avoid eating out. That means no UberEats, no Grubhub or Postmates. Buy groceries. Cook at home. Easily save over $100/month with this.

5. Unplug Appliances and Time Energy Use

Pay attention to your energy consumption. Unplug appliances when not in use, like:

  • TVs
  • Small kitchen appliances like blenders, coffee makers, can openers, etc.
  • VCRs or DVD players
  • Fans

Time your water use by using your cell phone timer when you brush your teeth, take showers, etc. Don’t leave the water running when you do the dishes. Fill the sink with hot soapy water and wash in that water. Just some ideas to help you save on energy and lower your bill by $100 this month.

6. Embrace a No-Spend Weekend

One of these no-spend weekends a month can help you save $100 alone.

Do entertaining activities at home, like:

  • Netflix marathonning
  • Invite friends over and BYOB
  • Take a walk in the neighborhood
  • Go to the park
  • Free citywide events like festivals, music in the park, carnivals, etc.
  • Go to the public library

7. Go to Bed Early

If you go to bed early, you are getting more sleep, which is great for health, and you’re also consuming less.

  • Consuming less energy-no lights on, no TV or other equipment or stuff at home on
  • You aren’t eating-which makes your groceries stretch longer
  • You aren’t spending-because you’ll be asleep

8. Answer Surveys

25 Genius Ways to Save $100 This Month

This is the part of the article where I talk about making more money to spend less. Because if you change nothing in your lifestyle and earn more, you can start saving $100 or more per month. Answering surveys is something I have personally done for years.

It takes your time and energy, nothing else. Be honest and share your feedback.

Do surveys on your time, earning here and there and watch your money stack up at the end of the month.

You can also opt for higher paying surveys like panels, where you earn $50+ per offer instead of $2 or $3.

15. Start an Ecommerce Store for Extra Money

Sell stuff around the house, or source products online and sell on your own Shopify store. My last Shopify store I started helped me make nearly $1,000 in the first 10 days of the store being open.

16. Sell your Stuff Through Online Consignment

Like ThredUp or Swap! These stores are great for buying good condition clothes and shoes on consignment. I buy my growing boy consignment clothes all the time. You can actually get lightly used or BRAND NEW clothes for a killer deal. I save around 40% compared to retail stores, when I shop on consignment.

17. Sell Your Extras Online

Go room by room and make a pile of extras that you can sell off. Then, list online on places like Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Letgo, etc. Easy way to grow your cash. This can work well for a few months, adding $100 to your savings account but to make this into a continuously replenishing source of savings month after month, you’ll want to make this into a business.

For example, you can buy goods on sale at places like Walmart, Walgreens, even online like Amazon, and resell.

This is called flipping. People make six figures with flea market flipping. I do it with websites and have earned over six figures with website flipping!

18. Buy Used Instead of New

Need something?

A computer? An appliance? Clothes? Buy used instead of new and save a ton!

19. Buy In Bulk

You spend more money in the short term but save BIG in the long term. For example, our household only buys trashbags like twice a year. We spend about $15 for a ton of huge trash bags and that lasts us forever.

Bulk stores are Costco, Sam’s Warehouse and others.

20. Save on Entertainment Costs by Going to the Library

At the library you can rent books and movies for free. So, no need to buy movies from Amazon or rent through Sling. Just borrow at the library. Plus, the library has free internet usually so it’s a great hang out spot for the entire day, if you want to save on energy consumption and internet costs.

21. Pay with Cash

This little trick helps you save by avoiding overspending.

Every time I go to the store, this is a big problem of mine. I stick to my list about 90% of the time but 10% of the time, I don’t and that means scooping extras that are on the end aisles, picking up a treat, heading into my favorite section of the store and coming out with something for myself most of the time, and more.

Nix this ASAP by just paying with cash. This way you are forced to stay within your budget and those little purchases that add up to an extra $100+ for the month, are gone!

22. Take Lunch to Work

And, pack lunch for your kids.

This means, for you, you’re saving money on lunch out and for your kids, you can save the $20 or $30 a month you pay for hot lunch at school, just by having them bring a sack lunch.

23. Drink Water

This saves you money, believe it or not.

No more pricey, sugary drinks like juice or soda. Good ol’ water and be motivated to drink your daily fill with this super cute motivational water bottle. Or, do like my family did and save on expensive fridge filters by using a Brita water filter that lets us enjoy delicious, filtered water and save on water bottles we buy from the grocery store. This is the exact one I bought last week for our family.

24. Wash Your Car at Home

You can even make the kids do this. No more $5 or $10 carwashes where you drive thru. Buy the supplies and wash your car at home.

25. Carpool

This goes toward saving on fuel costs by carpooling. At my old workplace they had a carpool system that allowed you to ride with 4 other people. That meant you drove once a week and rode 4 times a week.

Killer way to save money on gas!
